Ce document est une transcription latine du XVIIIe siècle (ce qui
explique les nombreuses erreurs de lectures et les mots manquants).
Philipus Dei gratia francorum et navarrae Rex. Senescallo bellicadri
vel eius locumtenenti salutem (...) Barones et alii alti justiciarii vestrae
senescalliae sententies abhominabile (...) detestabile leprosorum in mortem
nostram et omnium Christi fidelium machina (...) qui suis obesse non novit
misertus nostri sua propiciatione et pietate ineffabli (...) molientes ex
parte suae malignitatis conceptus cum puteis, fontibus, aquis et locis venenosis
ponebant et posuerant potiones sicut facti evidentia et non nullorum leprosorum
legitima confessio patefecit, ex quibus barones et justiciarii predicti turbati
non immerito et commoti in ardesientes quod actores tam flagitiosi sceleris
celeriter de medio tollerentur leprosos prout in suis reperiere districtibus
capientes eosdem sicut justum esse et adeos pervenerit credebant morti
deputaverunt eorum aliquos reliquos detinendo, verum quia nostro consilio
visumfuit omnium leprosorum regni nostri cognitionem et punitionem ad nos
tanquam pro laesae majestatis crimine pertinere pro executione jam facta
de ipsis barones et justiciarios ipsos ad emendam trahi mandavimus, et leprosos
superstites ad manum nostram poni et peream justiciam fieri de eisdem, sed
quoniam aliqui revocant in dubium an sit vel non majestatis laesae crimen,
et propter debatum deberemus in manu nostra tenere donec discussum esset
plenius et etiam terminatum, et sic negotium posset longius protelari. Nos
considerantes gravitatem delicti et quod festinam punitionem requirit, ac
reputantes de domino factum esse ut citius tanta aboleretur iniquitas praefatis
baronibus et justiciariis emendam si in aliqua nobis propter ea teneantur
de speciali gratia remittimus et quittamus, ac ut celerius promptiusque et
commodius sicut res exigit feudorum leprosorum superstitum nequitiosa putredine
terrae superficies abluatur ad huiusmodi leprosis superstibus de ampliori
gratia a moventes totaliter manum nostram, volumus et etiam concedimus quod
dicti barones et justiciarii leprosos ipsos prout in eorumerant districtibus
justicient et exequantur in eos debitum judicium ultionis. Volumus tamen
per hoc baronibus et justiciariis ipsis novum jus acquiri vel nobis prejudicium
generari. Quare mandamus vobis quatenus amota penitus dicta manu dictos barones
et justiciarios gratia huiusmodi gaudere pacifice permittentes ipsos contra
eam voluntatemque et confessionem praedictas non imprediatis, molestetis
vel quomodolibet inquietetis vel restituatis eis prout intererit cujuslibet
si qua de bonis suis capta sint propter ea vel saysita. Datum Creciaci, XVIIIa
